Zach Bloomstein is a Portland, Oregon–based producer, engineer, and mixer, and the house engineer and studio manager at Jackpot! Recording Studio. He has worked with artists including Patterson Hood, Portugal. The Man, Modest Mouse, Searows, Squirrel Flower, Storm Large, Glitterfox, Laura Gibson, Quinn Christopherson, Spoon Benders, Paul Gilbert, and many more.

Originally from Boston, Zach worked out of 37ft Productions and as a QC engineer at Peerless Mastering before relocating to Portland. He has since worked as a freelance engineer in studios across Portland, Boston, Los Angeles, New York City, and beyond.

He is a longtime member of the Audio Engineering Society, where he previously served as Chair of North and Latin America for the Student Delegate Assembly and Vice Chair of the Boston Section. He is also a voting member of the Recording Academy.

Zach produced the 2024 and 2025 PNW Music Awards Indie Album of the Year, as well as the 2025 Album of the Year. Across his career, he has worked with 300+ artists in recording, mixing, and mastering, both in-person and remotely, and continues to collaborate with artists worldwide.

A guitarist by training, Zach has toured extensively but feels most at home in the studio. His hybrid setup blends analog gear with modern workflows, using Pro Tools and analog tape. He is continually exploring new gear and plugins in service of making the recording process seamless and transparent, so artists can focus fully on their vision.
